Back in 2006 I was recording my first album “The Unexpected”. Back then i had told Samantha Adame to get on a song with me as I had wanted her on a song since I met her in high school and finally got her to do a song with me. The beat was produced by Earthman who is into minimal electronic music and very chilled out instrumentals. Like most of my favorite songs it took me a while to find a good topic. After a little influence from Fort Minor and Flyleaf. i needed someone with a young sounding but great voice. After she recorded her part it thought the song was solid. i knew the song would be amazing after my dad cried when he heard it. he cried telling my mom “I’m glad he found something that makes him happy”. the song does mean a lot to me, as it’s really all about remembering you way thinking as a child: to want to be bigger than you are instead of doing what everyone else us doing. In my mind i was god and damn did i do a good job creating an alternate world in my own mind. This one goes out the everyone’s inner child.
